Fixation- All rats are properly preserved using a 10% NBF for a minimum of 21 days for a 20g rat. Rats are removed of formalin and suspended in an antibacterial and glycerine solution. This solution is safe if the dome should break or the rat be removed to another vessel it is 100% water soluble.
 
Sourcing- all rats are from breeders that follow strict regulations to insure not only sanitary conditions but humane, safe euthanasia to provide food for reptiles and birds.
No reptile or bird went hungry, small batches of these rats were saved aside for wet specimen and the vast majority were used as food. The specimen are not fed alive nor are any animals shipped live.
Reptiles and birds in rehabilitation or the care of a facility or individual need to be fed and their nutritional requirements must be met.
