Making a drinking horn?

The outside of this horn has already been polished, but if you're interested in making your own drinking horn, you can follow this basic guide or research your own preferred method for yourself.

Step 1. Wash the inside of the horn. While we've already done this, it is recommended you also wash right before sealing to make sure you get a perfect finish.

Use dishwashing liquid and a bottle brush if possible.

Step 2. Choose your sealant. It was recommended to us that the best sealants for the inner part of your drinking horn are food-safe epoxy resin or food-grade beeswax. If you're going to use beeswax, make sure you do not put hot beverages in your horn, as the wax will melt.

Step 3. Prepare your sealant and fill your horn halfway. Gently rotate and tip the horn to ensure the top half of your horn is coated. Tip out any excess sealant.

Repeat again if necessary.

Step 4. Allow your sealant to cure. If you're using a food-safe epoxy resin, leave your horn for at least 48 hours to properly cure.

Once your sealant is dry, rinse with cold water, and your horn is ready to use!

A horn sealed with beeswax should be cold water washed only.

Horn will not be dishwasher safe.
